Cindy has an epiphany involving a self-help book after a bad night at yet another uninspiring dinner theatre. THE PLAY: Becca and Howie Corbett have everything a family could want until a life-shattering accident turns their world upside down and leaves the couple drifting perilously apart. The play charts their bittersweet search for comfort in the darkest of places and for a path that will lead them back into the light of day.
CAST REQUIREMENTS:
BECCACORBETT – 30-45 years old, female
Becca’ssophisticated, efficient exterior is cracking, revealing a mess of hot wires. Eight months after the accidental death of her four-year-old son, she is unable to find the key that will lead her out of her grief and back to a normal life.
HOWIECORBETT – 30-50 years old, male
Becca’shusband, Howie seems to have everything: an affable and charming personality, a successful career as a stockbroker, a stylish and intelligent wife, and a beautiful home. But the strain of coping with Becca’s emotional collapse drags Howie into a dark landscape of secrets and betrayal.
 IZZY– 25-40 years old, female
Becca’sscrewed-up sister, Izzy’s recklessness and selfishness damage her career and her relationships. Izzy is a study in contrasts: hilarious and heart-breaking, childishly selfish and fiercely loyal, foolish about herself and perceptive about others. Izzy is a brash and refreshing presence in the strained Corbett household.
NAT – 50-65 years old, female
Nat is a foil for her daughter Becca: blowsy, earthy and outspoken – especially when she’s had too much to drink. Neither Becca nor Izzy can predict whether Nat will dole out one of her outrageously inappropriate and insensitive remarks or a sudden and profound maternal expression of comfort and support.
JASON – 17 year-old, male
The high school student who accidentally killed Becca and Howie’s son. Jason is not only haunted by the incident, he sees in it a parallel to the premature death of his own father. Imaginative and sensitive, Jason attempts to grapple with his feelings of guilt and abandonment by composing science fiction fantasies.

Rehearsal Dates: January 6 – March 5 2015 Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings - starting at 6:30 pm
THE STORY: Preparing for their usual morning meeting, three sales associates discover their supervisor dead, with his feet up on the desk. All three are next in line for Zukasky's job. A.C. Tattums immediately begins to scheme; Anne is insecure and paranoid; and Barry is all indecision and blithering. What's worse, their department head, Marlino, announces Barry has the position, leaving Anne stupefied and unacknowledged for her ten years with the corporation. A.C., intent of climbing to the very top, begins to plant suggestions in his coworkers' minds, pitting them against one another. A.C. and Anne stage a break-in that inadvertently gets both she and Barry fired. A.C. comes out on top and, with Big Boss Marlino in his pocket, there's no stopping him.
CAST DESCRIPTION:
AC Tattums (male) - Sales Associate (30's to 40's) A clever, manipulative, double-dealing upstart who employs devious tactics to breed fear and confusion among his coworkers. A charismatic rogue, out for number one.
Anne Desmond: Sales Associate (30's to 40's) A smart woman (though not as clever as A.C.) Very capable and honest but also a bit high-strung and insecure. Damn tired of hitting her head on the glass ceiling of the "old boys" network.
Barry Mills: (30's to 40's) Sales Associate. A clueless, incompetent "yes-man", always confused and easily manipulated. Afraid of the coffee-maker.
Henry Marlino: (40's to 60's) The Big Boss - easily flattered, self-important, likes to tell pointless stories. Knows next to nothing about what actually goes on in the corporation.
Theodore Zukasky (40's to 60's) A deceased Executive (appears briefly at start of play)
Notes: This is a non-equity production. This play involves physical comedy. Cold Readings from the script will be provided. Actors cast must become members ($15) of Opening Nite Theatre Society. Resumes and Photos are appreciated.
