Garry Lejeune – A stuttering actor, easily fired up. Has a romantic interest in Dotty. His speech impediment disappears onstage in the role of Roger. Brooke Ashton - A young inexperienced actress, she pays no attention to others. Spends most of the play in a teddy and suspenders. Plays Vicki in Nothing On. A semi successful writer who is very ambitious. Becky: (20-25) James’ sister. More like her brother then she is willing to admit, Becky is trying to figure out moving out with her brother is the wisest thing to do. Colleen: (22-30) The narrator. Has an outside look on the events that take place and bring the audience inside the apartment. Needs to be a high soprano and a high belter. Ryder: (20-25) James’ best friend since childhood. They grew up together and became very successful when Ryder acted in one of James plays. Gina: (22-27) Sarah’s older sister and Becky’s best friend. Very head strong, wants what is best for everyone. Sarah: (16-19) Gina’s younger sister. Very innocent. Everything is very new and exciting for her, she wants to experience every bit of life. Dustin: (20-24) One half of a fabulous gay relationship. Very outgoing, supportive and sincere. Jordan: (20-24) One half of a fabulous gay relationship. Shy, but speaks out when appropriate. Loving, passionate and quiet. Superintendent: (24-40) The comic relief. Always coming in and out of the story without care. Kyle: (20-27) The womanizer. He gets what he wants no matter who is in his way. Needs to play the guitar or ukulele. Notes: Dance training an asset, as there will be at least two dance numbers in tap and jazz style in the show. This production is volunteer and non-equity. This will also be the workshop for this show, as it is still in it's developmental stages - with the hope being to take it to the Fringe next year. Notes: DÄMMERUNG will be a respectful, serious and playful, performance arts collective that will rely on a core of 8-12 performers, actors, and theatre makers who are ready to stretch their boundaries and develop a new form. DÄMMERUNG will be lead and facilitated by Tidal Grace—who has years of experience in leading drama groups; Tidal is also an actor, an artist, and a psychotherapist. DÄMMERUNG will focus on extending the theatrical art form into new directions. The first series of workshops will be seeking a core group of dedicated performers and creators while developing trust between its members through scene-study work both in English and German (knowledge of German is not essential). DÄMMERUNG will then extend its focus into producing a “play," and then using device and artists’ input, we will deconstruct the play's content and meaning from the inside-out and the outside-in, by integrating the “audience” into the production. Company: MISCELLANEOUS Productions Society MISCELLANEOUS Productions' Haunted House is a live site-specific performance that uses art as a vehicle to confront the things that scare us most deeply.Playwright: Written by the youth involved. Directed by professionals and offered as a free training program for culturally and socially diverse youth aged 14 – 24 years old, young performers involved in Haunted House will produce solo, duo and ensemble performances that will take place in and around an old East Vancouver house. Each participant will be assigned a room, a limited budget and a team of professional artists to collaborate with to create a performance work and/or installation, in which they face their fears - that which haunts them. Through naming our fears and telling stories about the root of these fears we are empowered to overcome that which haunts us. Additional Information: The newly formed Theatre Pandora is looking for 4 performers, to appear in an adaptation of The Mandrake by Machiavelli, staged at the Havana Theatre 7-12 oct. Each actor will play every lead role in this physically demanding ensemble production of Machiavelli's hilarious farce, often described as the greatest play in the Italian language. Notes: Every performer will play each of the lead roles over the course of the show. These will include and old and foolish judge, his beautiful and virtuous wife, a ruthless young nobleman and a master trickster. As well playing multiple characters you will also directly address the audience. You will be on stage for the duration of the show. This is a complex and challenging role that will allow you to develop your craft whilst expressing your creativity. Rehearsals: Rehearsals will be held in East Van and will last for 8 hours accept of the dress and tech which will be 4 hours each.
