Notes: Show is a mystery/psychological thriller that will run at the Firehall Arts Centre during the 2014 Fringe Festival. Actors must be able to memorize and perform several monologues, as there is story telling in the show.

Notes: Hardline Productions and Zee Zee Theatre are casting 2m and 2f performers for the premiere of Bright Blue Future, a new play by Sean Harris Oliver. Bright Blue Future was shortlisted for Theatre BC's Playwriting Competition, was part of the Playwright Theatre Centre's 2013 Writer's Colony, and has received a professional development workshop produced by Zee Zee Theatre and Hardline Productions. Please be aware that the play contains simulated drug use, sexual content, violence, and partial nudity.
Rehearsals begin late March, 2015 and the production runs until mid-May 2015.

Enter into a familiar landscape haunted by ghosts and other monsters with Herm, Gertie and a lonely Duck as they trace the story of Hansel and Gretel through the ruins of what was once Vancouver. Abandoned together, they must learn survive in a strange world. Come join this spine tingling journey through the dark city.
Characters:
1. Herm (Male 15-25) Based on the fairytale character Hansel. Must be comfortable with movement and climbing. Sports, dance, or martial arts training is an asset.
2. Gertie (Female 15-25) Based on the fairytale character Gretel. Must be comfortable with movement. Sports, dance, or martial arts training is an asset.
3. Step Mother (Female 30-40) Stubborn and strong-willed to the point of cruelty. Actor must be comfortable sitting on another actor\'s shoulders for a significant amount of time. A background in movement and music is an asset.
4. Father (Male 30-40) Caring, yet confused and easily swayed. Actor must be able to carry another person on his shoulders for a significant amount of time. A background in movement is an asset.
5. Duck (Male or Female, Any Age) A clumsy, loving character who leads the audience through the journey of the play. A background in movement and/or clown is an asset.
Non-Union. Actors will each receive a Fringe Artist Pass and 10% of profit after expenses have been paid for.

Synopsis: This new adaptation of the play that inspired several movies is a warm, gentle comedy that follows the tangled tale of Parfumerie employee George Horvath. Just days before Christmas, George’s boss fires him after mistakenly suspecting him to be the lover of his unfaithful wife. Meanwhile, George’s own love life goes awry when he discovers that the stranger he has fallen in love with through a secret correspondence is none other than Amalia Balash, a co-worker with whom he constantly feuds. For the employees of the Parfumerie, only the truth can lead to a happy resolution in this old-fashioned, romantic Christmas tale.
